Testimonials
"I have had the good fortune to run the NY marathon twice, both times for the Jodi Lee Foundation. I ran my first one in 2014 and because it was my first time it is the experience I want to talk about with you. I can honestly say that it was the greatest thing I have ever done for myself. You find out a fair bit about your own character in the 10 months leading up to the first Sunday in November. It’s not just the amazing fitness you gain and all the benefits that come with that, but the organisational skills that develop and the discipline that is required that all become, in an odd way, addictive.
If you are even remotely considering undertaking this amazing event, I can only wholeheartedly recommend signing up for it. Secondly, none of the above even takes into consideration that it is in New York, the greatest city on earth!"

"I would encourage anyone considering participating to get after it. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. An amazing experience to run all through NYC and get cheered on by so many enthusiastic spectators. Raising money and awareness for the JLF and participating as part of an organised group made the experience more fulfilling. In my case it saved my life!"

"Back in 2014, my brother-in-law had recently died of bowel cancer at age 49 leaving behind a 4-year-old son. Training and running the marathon seemed daunting to start with, but not with such a good cause. I was so motivated to run because of the connection with Jodi Lee and knowing that the money raised might make a difference to other people’s lives. I ran for everyone affected by bowel cancer and for those people who had donated. Nick Lee was so helpful as he had run the marathon several times and knew New York so well, it was great to have him talk us through it and to give us such useful tips. I loved the experience and everything to do with the Jodi Lee Foundation and the New York marathon.
Since 2014, I have run the NY marathon again, as well as the London, Berlin and Chicago marathons and In April I will be running the Boston marathon. That first NY marathon with the Jodi Lee Foundation started a big journey for me! I have nothing but good things to say about the Jodi Lee Foundation. It does such fabulous work and is an amazing organisation to work with."

"I was running with 25 other athletes from His and Her Time, running for the Jodi Lee Foundation. I can tell you the hardest thing about a marathon is lining up at the start line and each and every one of us did. Each with own obstacles and injuries to deal with.
At times it was quite overwhelming, many times I held back my tears as kids, adults young and old took time out from their daily lives to make us feel so special. I remember running through Brooklyn feeling quite emotional about the Jodi Lee story and how we as a team had raised close to $150,000 for bowel cancer.
Hats off to you New York for making an event that will always be treasured and remembered so fondly for all of us. Definitely one of the "GREAT" moments of my life."

"Never in a million years did I think I’d attempt to run a marathon. Yet the combo of a great cause and great support with JLF made it happen. And boy am I glad I did… one of the very greatest experiences of my fortunate life."
- David Jackson
"Running for the Jodi Lee Foundation was not just about the marathon; it was about being part of a bigger fight, a fight for life and hope. The warmth and support we received throughout this journey was overwhelming, and it was such a pleasure to contribute to a meaningful cause. Being a part of the Jodi Lee Foundation team was what made it really special.
Reflecting on these memories, now many years on, fills Liza and I with joy and gratitude. We hope to return to the NYC marathon carrying the same spirit, albeit a bit slower and an awful lot greyer for me! But, with an undiminished dedication to make a difference. It's not just about the running and it’s not just about the city. It's about running, in the greatest city in the world, for a cause that promises a brighter, healthier future for all Australians. Ready, set, go!"
