I’m taking part in The JLF Trek & Trail Run to raise awareness for the early detection and prevention of bowel cancer.
Last year on the 29th of October I checked in with Mum as to how my Dad's colonoscopy went (he's terrible on his phone) her response was "not good...".
Dad was unfortunately diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. However, he was lucky and they detected it very early thanks to Dad's routine health checks. Since the original diagnosis it has been good news with Dad only requiring surgery at this stage and looking to have avoided Chemo and Radiotherapy. Fingers crossed the good news keeps coming as he recovers from the surgery.
Others aren't quite as lucky so I'm trekking for all of those affected.
I'll be running one of the days and walking the next - need to keep it interesting somehow! Wish me luck.
