I’m taking part in The JLF Trek & Trail Run to raise awareness for the early detection and prevention of bowel cancer.
I'm participating in The JLF Trek & Trail Run SA 2026 and raising money for The Jodi Lee Foundation, a national bowel cancer prevention charity, reaching millions of Australians each year with their initiatives designed to help save lives.the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer.
Bowel cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia, and Australia has one of the highest rates in the world (around 15,000 Australians are diagnosed every year).
The confronting reality is that over 5,000 Australians die from this disease annually. However, when detected early, up to 99% of bowel cancers can be successfully treated or even prevented. Sadly, fewer than 40% of bowel cancers are detected at an early stage when the likelihood of remaining cancer free is high, which is why awareness and screening are so important.
To support this cause, my daughter Emily and I will be trekking 72 km over two days as part of the event. We are looking forward to the challenge and to raising awareness and funds to help save lives.
I would love your support to reach my fundraising goal; any amount you can give is greatly appreciated.
