I acknowledge that The JLF Trek is a test of a persons physical and mental limits and it carries with it potential for property loss, serious injury and death. I hereby assume the risks of participating in The JLF Trek (the event).

1. I confirm that I will be at least 16 years of age on the date of the event and will be accompanied by an adult if under 18 years of age;
2. I understand that extreme weather conditions may cause The JLF Trek to be cancelled or modified. The trek registration fee and fundraising is non-refundable and non-transferable;
3. I certify that I am physically fit and in good health and in proper physical condition to safely participate in The JLF Trek. I have no physical or mental conditions that would affect my ability to safely participate in The JLF Trek, or that would result in my participation creating a risk of danger to myself or to others;
4. I have sufficiently trained for participation in this event, and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified health professional;
5. I acknowledge that the Jodi Lee Foundation (JLF) recommends and encourages each participant to obtain medical clearance from his/her personal physician prior to participation;
6. I certify that I have not been advised or cautioned against participating by a medical practitioner.
7. I understand that it is my responsibility to continuously monitor my own physical and mental condition during the event, and I agree to withdraw immediately and to notify appropriate personnel if at any point my continued participation would create a risk of danger to myself or to others;
8. I confirm that I am covered by medical insurance;
9. In the event of an injury to me that renders me unconscious or incapable of making a medical decision, I authorise appropriate JLF personnel, event management staff and/or emergency medical personnel at the event to make emergency medical decisions on my behalf including, but not limited to, CPR and AED;
10. I authorise JLF and/or event management staff to secure emergency medical care or transportation if deemed necessary by JLF;
11. I agree to assume all costs of emergency medical care and transportation should it be required; and
12. I acknowledge that JLF has instituted its rules for the protection of participants and co-participants. I agree to familiarise myself with those rules and follow them throughout the event. I also recognise the authority of JLF and/or event management staff to halt my participation and, if necessary, have me removed if my participation, conduct, or presence endangers myself or my co-participants. I hereby take the following action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors and assigns, or anyone else who might claim or sue on my behalf, and I expressly acknowledge that it is my intent to take these actions:
13. I waive, release, and discharge from any and all claims, losses, or liabilities for death, personal injury, partial or permanent disability, property damage, medical or hospital bills, theft or damages of any kind, including economic losses (and loss) and/or stolen items, which arise out of or relate to my participation in, or my traveling to and from the event, the following persons or entities: Jodi Lee Foundation Pty Ltd, sponsors, event management staff, employees, event owners, volunteers, all states, cities, or localities in which events or segments of events are held, and the officers, directors, employees, representatives, volunteers, and agents of any of the above even if such claims, losses, or liabilities are caused by the negligent acts or omissions of the persons I am hereby releasing or are caused by the negligent acts of any other person or entity;
14. I understand and acknowledge The JLF Trek is not a race against other contestants, but rather a competition with oneself and the trail. The objective is to complete the event. The JLF Trek event presents a physical and mental challenge to participants;
15. I assume the risks of participating in this event and I acknowledge that there are risks associated with participating in this event including but not limited to walking injuries, falls, effects of weather including cold, wind, rain, lightning, the condition of the trail, roads (and railroad crossings), water hazards, and any hazard that may be posed by spectators or volunteers all such risks being known and appreciated by me, and I further acknowledge that these risks include risks that may be the negligence of the persons or entities mentioned above in paragraph (m) or other persons or entities;
16. I agree not to sue any of the persons or entities mentioned above in paragraph (m) for any of the claims, losses, or liabilities that I have waived, released or discharged herein;
17. I indemnify and hold harmless the persons and entities mentioned in paragraph (m) for any and all claims made or liabilities assessed against them as a result of:
    1. my actions or inactions,
    2. the actions, inactions or negligence of others including those parties hereby indemnified;
    3. the conditions of the hiking trail, equipment at checkpoints or areas where the event is being conducted; or
    4. any other harm caused by an occurrence related to The JLF Trek;
    5. I grant permission for the use of my name, image, voice, statement or otherwise relating to my participation in The JLF Trek event in any form of media, and I waive all right to any future compensation to which I may otherwise be entitled as a result of the use of any of these; and
    6. I understand and accept that my entry fee is not a donation but covers the cost of the event and is non refundable and non-transferable under any circumstance including the cancellation of the Event for safety concerns or otherwise as a result of something beyond the reasonable control of JLF, including without limitation strong winds, heavy rain, lightning and accidents.
